CHUNG_Kevin4x5.jpg

Dr. Chung’s research goal is to incorporate evidence-based medicine and patient-reported outcomes into hand surgery. He is the Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded multi-center Wrist and Radius Injury Surgical Trial (WRIST). He is committed to teaching research methodology and holds K24 mentorship funding from the NIH. Finally, he ensures the spread of clinical knowledge by hosting international research fellows at UM and traveling frequently with GlobalREACH.

Dr. Sears’ research focuses on studying treatment and process variation in surgery outcomes, efficiency and value of surgical care, and implementation of patient-reported outcomes in clinical practice. Her frequent topics included appropriateness and efficiency of advanced diagnostic testing on different health conditions. She is also serving as a Principal Investigator at the VA Center for Clinical Management Research.

Lu Wang is Associate Professor of Biostatistics. She received her Ph.D in Biostatistics from Harvard University in 2008 and joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in the same year. Dr. Wang's research focuses on statistical methods for evaluating dynamic treatment regimes, personalized health care, nonparametric and semiparametric regressions, missing data analysis, functional data analysis, and longitudinal (correlated/clustered) data analysis. She has been collaborating with investigators at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Michigan Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health.
